Steve m. stawychny

Steve Stawychny began his tenure in the construction industry as a scaffold laborer in 1984. Steve worked as a scaffold laborer until becoming a foreman in 1986. In 1988 Steve became a superintendent where he held that position until 2008 when he became a construction manager. Steve has lead, directed, and managed, some of the largest, high profile, scaffold projects in the Midwest and continued to be a consultant to the scaffold industry until December 2016.

Steve founded Switch Rail in late 2009 and the company has, literally, changed the “face of safety” with its various innovative fall protection systems and designs. Although the economy was in a downturn at its beginning, and introducing a “new” concept to an industry that was comfortable with doing what they were doing for many years, Steve believed in the concept and Switch Rail has grown exponentially since its launch. The Company now has product on some of the highest profile projects in the Midwest. Switch Rail holds two U.S. Patents for innovation in the design of safety rail with additional patents pending.

With corporate offices headquartered in Bensenville, Illinois, and a branch office opened 2018 in Nashville, Tennessee, Switch Rail products are being used in 10 states across the U.S.
